Frank Wildhorn Goes International!
Frank Wildhorn, who has been a mainstay in the world of American musical theater for decades now and who has produced some of the frontrunners of the musical theater world including “Jekyll & Hyde” and “Titanic,” is embarking upon yet another theatrical journey and you can imagine how excited his scores of fans are at the prospect of enjoying his latest works. Indeed, as Frank Wildhorn continues to explore his craft in terms of theater, along with the evolving tastes and learning processes that all humans undergo throughout the course of their lifetimes, this composer is finding that he is enjoying a sort of international expansion of his talents and inspirations.
While Wildhorn was commissioned by Takarazuka last year in Japan, he began a sort of obsession at let to his newly-evolved international tastes. Takarazuka is an all-girl group in Japan that has been in existence for a hundred years and which is an entire sub-culture wherein girls graduate from special schools and enter into specific performance companies, producing most of Japan’s biggest stars by means of this tradition. After doing a show in Japan called “Never Say Goodbye” he began to travel all around to other parts of the world to bring his theatrics as far East and West as he could. With everything that Frank Wildhorn has presented to the world in the past, you know that everything he has worked out outside of the U.S. is sure to be amazing!
