Brian Stokes Mitchell, who will have his solo debut at Carnegie Hall on October 15, 2007 is more than excited about the fact hat he will, in the very near future, make the stage at Carnegie Hall his own for one full night. Speaking with BroadwayWorld.com’s Robert Diamond, Mitchell discussed how exciting and nerve-wracking it is to see his face on the poster on 7th Avenue, and how successful though intense his rehearsal process has been. This solo debut at Carnegie Hall is being directed by Richard Jay-Alexander who also directed Barbara Streisand’s tour, and Paul Gemignani is the show’s musical director.

The fact that Mitchell has worked with Gemignani before inevitably eased some nerves as the duo knows how to work with each other and get both needs met. Due to the fact that this solo debut is going to have so many guest stars, including Harolyn Blackwell and Reba McEntire, Mitchell has also been busy bringing in his guest vocalists to rehearse with him and he is loving every minute of it, “It’s so much fun and I think that it?s going to be a really special night” Mitchell admits.
With other big names such as Heather Headley and Phylicia Rashad joining Mitchell onstage to make his night a memorable one, you can rest assured that you are not going to want to miss out on this impressive line-up of talent for a great night out!
