NYMF Winners Announced; Gala Planned!
The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) proudly announces today the winners of the NYMF Awards for Excellence out of the new musicals, 37 in total, presented at the 2007 Festival. The winners are chosen by an independent jury and honor the award-winning shows and artists that are brought to life at the festival. This year, the awards ceremony also honored three young Broadway producers. The producers who received honors from the NYMF were Robert Ahrens of “Xanadu,” Pun Bandhu of “Spring Awakening” and Jennifer Maloney of “Spring Awakening” and “Legally Blonde.” This Awards Gala itself will be held on November 4 at the Hudson Theatre, located at 145 West 44th Street in New York City.
Beginning with a champagne reception, this Awards Gala will also include a sit-down dinner and select performances from the NYMF productions and the honorees’ Broadway shows. Winners of this year’s award include, but certainly are not limited to: “The Boy in the Bathroom” as “Most Promising New Musical” and “The Yellow Wood” for “Excellence in Music” as well as “Such Good Friends” for “Excellence in Lyrics” and “Platforms” for “Excellence in Choreography.” Of course there is a slew of additional categories and winners, many shows winning in multiple categories which showcases the true talent that is available from this NYMF. You had better believe that you are going to want to keep your eyes on these shows and on your chance to get tickets to attend this Awards Gala!
