That’s right, the Charles Dickens classic “A Tale of Two Cities” is being adapted to the threatre and is currently engaged in its out-of-town pre-Broadway try-out, much to the excitement of fans of the novel and fans of musical theater in general. Jill Santoriello’s new musical epic opens tonight, at the Asolo Repertory Theater’s main stage at The Harold E and Esther M. Mertz Theater in Sarasota, Florida. Performances will continue to run through November 18 and you had better believe that you are going to want to take this chance to enjoy this show!

With a book, music and lyrics all written by Santoriello, this show is directed by Michael Donald Edwards and is choreographed by Warren Carlyle. Additionally, this musical is designed by Tony Walton on scenery and David Zinn on costumes while Richard Pilbrow is in charge of the lighting design and Carl Casella and Domonic Sack will take on the sound aspect. Musical direction occurs thanks to Jerry Steichen and orchestrations are by Edward B. Kessel and Bob Krogstad. With such a strong team working on this show, it should come as little surprise that the show is sure to be a hit!
