By now we are all very aware that that staple of musical theater and perhaps the  strongest advent of the rock musical ideology, “Rent.” is preparing to bid adieu to the city that has housed it for so many years. That’s right, for those of you who consider yourselves theater fans but were not aware that “Rent” is preparing to close on Broadway, it is.

However, the closing date has been pushed back, due to high ticket demand (naturally) and so now you have until September 7 to say good-bye to your love of a show. Previously “Rent” had been scheduled to close on June 1, so this is quite a postponement, and I say “Brava” as some of us have to get out to NYC from certain west coast areas in order to see a show on Broadway.
